About Get online day
Get online day 2008 is part of the Family Learning Festival taking place throughout the month of October. It is a great excuse for families to try something new, learn something useful and fun.
Calling all adults!
- Are you confused by www dots?
- Not sure what all the internet fuss is about?
- Fed-up with the kids knowing more about computers than you?
Whether you're looking up family health information, getting a free afternoon with the kids by shopping online, booking a bargain family holiday, helping with homework or sharing pictures with far flung family, the internet could help you save time, hassle and money.
Calling all kids!
- Is there someone in your family who has never been online?
- Does your Auntie think iTunes are cough sweets?
- Is your Dad's surfing better in the sea than on the web?
If you're the expert it's up to you to show them the basics, share some of your favourite sites, and be on hand with hints and tips! Whether they're complete beginners or just a bit rusty, you could be the one to help them get going online.
Getting online is easy!
- Call 0800 77 1234 to find your nearest participating UK online centre
- Call the centre to find out more or drop in to have a chat with our friendly staff
- Play the Challenge the Walkers Game!
Don't worry, no one can break anything, and staff will be on hand to help if you get stuck.
